Who we are
The Mayor and Mayoress, Councillor Mr Richard McNicholl, J.P. and Mrs Julie McNicholl strive to raise awareness and funds for the Mayoralty nominated charities.
Our aims
- To raise funds for the nominated Mayoral Appeal Fund charities
- To raise awareness of the work of the charities
The nominated charities
The two charities to benefit from the appeal during the forthcoming civic year are Dot’s Dream Foundation and IOM Special Olympics Group .
Dot’s Dream Foundation is a Manx registered charity set up in memory of Dot Pitts, by Dot’s children, to continue the fantastic charitable work Dot carried out as a member of the community, as a Councillor and as Mayor. The charity is involved with a diverse and broad range of causes, both nationally and internationally.
IOM Special Olympics Group is a Manx registered charity founded in 1985. Special Olympics Isle of Man is part of the Special Olympics family with over 170 countries helping men, woman and children with intellectual disabilities through sport, making the Special Olympics the largest sporting organisation in the world.
