Who we are
Manx Overseas Student Training (M.O.S.T.) was established as a charity in August 2007 with the sole aim of helping overseas students from underdeveloped countries have access to higher education.

Our aims
We believe that education is the key to helping people out of poverty, gaining self-respect and dignity.

Our aim is to raise enough money to bring into the Isle of Man students from the developing world to be educated here on the Island.  They will then return to their homelands with knowledge, qualifications and experience to benefit their own communities and countries and thereby contribute to their own nation’s economy.

The work we do
We have so far had two students over here from Nigeria and they have been educated at the International Business School and the Isle of Man College.

University classes in Nigeria can have up to one thousand students whereas in the Isle of Man there are often less than twenty in a typical class which means that students receive individual attention.  We believe that students from the developing world will enhance and enrich the cultural and intellectual life of the educational establishments on the Island giving us the opportunity to learn from the students about their own countries and understand better how other people live and the conditions they have to endure.

It is important that we, who are in a position to receive every opportunity in this life, embrace those who are reaching out from the developing world to attain qualifications that will enable them to grow as much more fulfilled people.

How you can help
The fees for a student are currently in excess of £2,000 per term so before we can contemplate inviting even one student to take advantage of this opportunity for just on year we need to raise in the region of £10,000 bearing in mind accommodation and living costs.

We run a ‘300 Club’ for anyone who wishes to donate a minimum of £50.  An Invitation to be an 'Education Friend' by joining the M.O.S.T. '300 Club' is available on our 'Downloads' tab.

Fundraising
If you feel you could help by organising or sponsoring a fundraising event we would love to hear from you.

Sponsor
Please contact us if you would like to help sponsor a student.

Donations
M.O.S.T. has no paid employees or overhead running costs.  Every penny donated is used to pay for the student’s fees.

God bless and reward you for caring.

The M.O.S.T. Committee.
